Prisons are always considered as the last resort for anyone to end up in. And for most people those who had been in prisons are considered as people at the bottom of the caste. That is always the thought of nearly everybody; although it is changing now, but still to many they just can't accept it yet. Some are a little hypocrite on this, and say that they are different, they dont regard them as such; but wait until the person come to ask a hand of their daughters then you will realise the truth behind the saying.
In my years of experienced in the field, i always look at prison as a new beginning. A place for you to relearn your mistake and acquire new skills, be it social skills or vocational skills. So life is not end in prison, in fact a new lease of life are being established.
Restructuring individuals in prison is not an easy task. People always have a set of perspectives on their minds. The way they look at certain things might not be the same way others look at it. So in restructuring human beings, the most important factor is to understand of why and how they look at certain things in that manner. I guess we have to empathise and try to be in their shoes. That would be the beginning of understanding a human being.
